Breakfast Economy Finance with Elie Hériard-Dubreuil
Organised by "ENSAE Solidaire"
How can climate risk be quantified and integrated into credit risk methodologies?
Climate change, considered one of the major global risks by the World Economic Forum in 2022, is at the heart of the news today following the publication of the IPCC's 6th report, and by the extreme climatic events that are increasing in intensity and frequency throughout the world.
Companies have to face up to the physical risks linked to climate, which can potentially impact their economic activity by affecting physical assets, their activities or their supply chain. For this reason, they are strongly encouraged to publish information relating to this risk. This will be increasingly integrated into credit risk methodologies, with the first climate stress test to be carried out in 2022 at the request of the European Central Bank.
Banks, asset management companies, insurers and industrial firms are all concerned by this new and complex subject.
Elie Hériard-Dubreuil (ENSAE 2000) is Chairman of Etifinance, an innovative European rating, research and consultancy group serving sustainable finance and development. He has over 20 years' experience in risk management and sustainable finance. Anthony Schrapffer is a researcher at Ethifinance.
